I’m confused. It says EA Anticheat, not Easy Anticheat. I thought they were different.
You are confused because I was confused it’s not EAC it’s just EA’s anticheat, sor.

How does EAC fuck the Linux community?
I think they mean EA Anti-Cheat, not Easy Anti-Cheat. The former, which is used in 2042, does not run under linux (and probably never will).
BFV runs out-of-the-box on linux systems and has a “Gold” rating on ProtonDB. If EA really goes on with this, BFV will become unplayable, just like 2042.

Your ‘Linux community’ is literally negligible in terms of sales.
Misleading post - the tweet clearly says they’re adding EA Anticheat. This has absolutely nothing to do with Easy AntiCheat.
You are right I hallucinated and though they were just writing EAC weird.
Hope they don’t extend support to apex and titanfall otherwise linux users with be out of luck.
But Apex already uses EAC?
Okay, but why? Battlefield players arent playing V. We are still playing 4 over here and theres like a 1 in 3 chance that someone in your game is a cheater.
Not that I want EAC, more like I want a new Battlefield game that feels like Battlefield, not whatever V and 2042 are.
Actually a lot more players are playing Battlefield V than Battlefield 4.
Battlefield V, despite its troubled history, at this point in time is mechanically the best Battlefield game. That was certainly not always the case, but after the pacific expansion and the final huge content update released shortly before support for the game ended, the game was left in a really good place. It’s longevity has also benefited by not fracturing the player base with a dozen DLCs.
