Any website that needs me to create an account to look at something can go fuck itself honestly…
NY times gets me every time
Always says I’ve hit the free article limit. Never read an article on it ever.
Archive.is works, there’s even a Firefox addon for it
Most news sites that give you “x free articles per month” use cookies to identify by how many you’ve read so simply opening in a private tab almost always resets the counter
Archive.ph has you covered
And Instagram. Their website won’t even load on iOS, it’s just a blank white screen.
You know what will always be safe to send people? Fediverse links! Our shit actually works and won’t scare people away.
And tiktok. I can’t see any of those things when it’s a link.
I feel like Tiktok is one of the few that does work without an account.
It’s a pain to unmute before it starts, you have a banner hiding the top and bottom screen so you only see half of the video. If it didn’t work at least I would have an excuse to tell them not to send me links while being polite. (it works fine on pc though)
Applies to Quora as well when I search something up to find an answer and Quora is the first result.
Girlfriend ain’t had period since she got pregat
You used to be able to bypass this by putting a ? At the end of the url, not sure if it still works, but I used to use that trick a lot
And pinterest
Yeah, Google should really derank Pinterest for their BS. It’s ruined image search.
image search something
most results are that site
FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
DuckDuckGo still lets you search, view and save images without going to the webpage.
Better privacy too.
Remember when Elon was protecting the town square or some shit?
Oh yeah, I haven’t visited Twitter since they added this. I have an account, I just can’t be bothered to log in.
It applies to everything nowadays… except for the fediverse.
It’s extremely common, but there are still a few sites left that won’t force you to log in. YouTube is one such example, though of course it has its own problems too.
Nitter still works y’all…
Yeah but then I have to look at Twitter. Gross.
libredirect extension should be in everyones browser
What does that do?
It’s an extension that redirects websites like YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok to alternative frontends
Nah, I won’t be able to tell my friends I can’t see their link, so they won’t be fed up with twitter
Use nitter.net
Does that still work after all of this?
They fixed it recently I believe.
Oh that is cool i will have to give it a try.
