Oh great, we’ve taken a perfectly good mouse and given it social anxiety! :(
(Sarcasm/joking aside, this is pretty neat and hopefully this research eventually ends up helping people with social anxiety)

I’ve thought about asking the folks at the local Free Geek about getting a laptop or two like this that I can mess around with. I had an old HP Stream 11 and I’m still disappointed that it died.

Groverhaus is a vibe coder built house. Load bearing drywall.
I’m glad it’s not a thing here because as a “positive” incentive I feel like it drives some users to vapid karma farming over actually interesting and new content. That said, I occasionally miss it when there’s some unpleasant commenter douchenozzeling all over a thread and it’s an easy way to see if someone is always an unpleasant ass or if they’re having a bad day and otherwise make valuable contributions to Lemmy.

I wonder if Chrome started charging a monthly fee if that would be enough for them to start hemorrhaging users?

Ooh, Limo has a Flatpak? Nice. I’m running Bazzite on my laptop and have been wanting to play FNV for the first time but I’ve got it on Epic through Heroic Launcher. I’m guessing the file paths will be different but it should otherwise mod more or less the same as you said, I’ll have to try it. What kind of weird stuff did you have to do to get NVSE working?

Although 420698008 isn’t bad…

The appendix is a vestigial organ that doesn’t actually do anything in humans. (It might still fit the definition of vestigial, but it’s far from useless and we keep learning more about how valuable gut health is.)
I looked up the Taj Mahal money laundering, and it’s real.

Truth is you can go a decade and never even see a gator.
… How? I grew up near Orlando, and seeing a smaller alligator next to an apartment complex retention pond or just in a random lake was extremely common. The week I moved away from Florida, some kid was killed by an alligator in the lake I learned to water ski in, although people being killed by alligators is extremely uncommon, they’re generally pretty chill and don’t go after animals that are bigger than them.

Legacy Nvidia drivers a couple months ago? That was a fun time, lol.

I have the jlab version and they’re comfortable enough, but they’re pinching the side of your ear so they do get uncomfortable after a while. I still prefer them to standard earbuds, but I’m also prone to ear infections so…
Keep in mind sound quality probably isn’t quite on par with similar priced earbuds, but they’re great for podcasts. +1 for these being a “glad I bought them” impulse buy.

I just got off a phone interview that didn’t go amazing. I’ve done Zoom interviews before and those are less awful. Oh well, I’ve got another interview tomorrow for a job that’s closer and pays more even if I did really want the tech repair job.

Go out and paint bike lanes, encouraging cycling means less traffic for your van.

Oh he’s the Lego Island guy, I thought he sounded familiar.

I miss SchoodleDoodleDoo’s poems.
I’ve had pet mice, they’re pretty neat too - the less timid ones can actually be trained to do tricks and some of them were trained to go back to their cage if they had to pee while out. They’re smarter than people give them credit for, they’re as smart as the dumbest rats they’re just a lot smaller so they’re more afraid of things.
Whereas the hamsters my friends had when I was a kid were basically all bitey assholes, but they were definitely poorly socialized.
