Truth is you can go a decade and never even see a gator.
… How? I grew up near Orlando, and seeing a smaller alligator next to an apartment complex retention pond or just in a random lake was extremely common. The week I moved away from Florida, some kid was killed by an alligator in the lake I learned to water ski in, although people being killed by alligators is extremely uncommon, they’re generally pretty chill and don’t go after animals that are bigger than them.
Legacy Nvidia drivers a couple months ago? That was a fun time, lol.
I have the jlab version and they’re comfortable enough, but they’re pinching the side of your ear so they do get uncomfortable after a while. I still prefer them to standard earbuds, but I’m also prone to ear infections so…
Keep in mind sound quality probably isn’t quite on par with similar priced earbuds, but they’re great for podcasts. +1 for these being a “glad I bought them” impulse buy.
I just got off a phone interview that didn’t go amazing. I’ve done Zoom interviews before and those are less awful. Oh well, I’ve got another interview tomorrow for a job that’s closer and pays more even if I did really want the tech repair job.
Go out and paint bike lanes, encouraging cycling means less traffic for your van.
Oh he’s the Lego Island guy, I thought he sounded familiar.

I miss SchoodleDoodleDoo’s poems.
The only way that’s a problem is if you’re on certain government benefits, if you make just a little bit too much there’s a hard cutoff for many benefits so you may end up losing more than you made in OT. But if your staff is facing this dilemma, they need to be paid more.
How else are you supposed to make a sourtoe cocktail at home?
Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!
No, but seriously, I occasionally miss being able to just install shit. But 95% of the time, there’s a Flatpak and it’s great.
You missed making the Fiat Maluch joke.
(Maluch in Polish apparently means toddler.)
Yeah I was happier not knowing about this bit of 196 lore.
I mean if my water heater decides to take a shit, I can just call the landlord and they’ll handle it…
I rent, and I wish it was that easy. I have to twist my landlord’s arm into doing anything and she always complains about how much it costs. We had sewage backing up into the basement and she didn’t want to pay for the emergency plumber. Ugh. I dream of my own apartment with a decent landlord.
Off topic, but Crypt of the Necrodancer is on sale right now on Steam and I own a dance mat… do you know how difficult the dance mat mode for the game is? I’m really bad at rhythm games, I still have a lot of fun playing them though.
Disney cast members are taught to “Disney point” where you point with either two fingers or your whole hand, and during Traditions (job training/brainwashing course) you’re shown pictures of Walt Disney doing that point.
At some point you realize that he’s doing that point because they just edited a cigarette out from between his fingers.
The appendix is a vestigial organ that doesn’t actually do anything in humans. (It might still fit the definition of vestigial, but it’s far from useless and we keep learning more about how valuable gut health is.)
