Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are you scared of AI becoming sentient? How do we ensure we never make one that is?
11·5 months agoOne theory I heard is that sentience is a quantum process arising from superpositioned nanotubules in our brain, if that is the case then AGI won’t be possible until quantum computing makes a few leaps.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Europe is slowly ditching Microsoft: why it's happening & why it could fail.
165·6 months agoI think that if Linux is to be more widely adopted a more easily used distro needs to become mainstream. Let’s face it, the average computer user barely knows how to use Windows, just because you find Linux easy doesn’t mean they will.
Do you think you could teach Linux to your grandmother?

Technology@lemmy.ml•Evidence of cell phone surveillance detected at anti-ICE protest
24·6 months agoYeah, if you go protest you should leave your tracking device at home or, even better, with a friend or relative who you know will not be there. The US government doesn’t require subcutaneous tracking chips (yet), you can put yours away.

Sadly I bought my PC before switching to Linux was on the agenda. And I don’t have the money to change to AMD.

So would this nullify GDPR, or would they just say “no both are in effect?”
