Mine slowly developed kidney failure so over the space of a couple of years it slowly deteriorated more and more and would eat less and less until one day she puked and never wanted to eat anymore. After a week and a half of giving her IVs and giving her water with a syringe we had to sacrifice her because she was clearly never eating again and wouldn’t even want water anymore. Poor thing was skin and bones had lost all muscle in that week and a half we were trying to get her to eat again it felt it was a mercy to put her to sleep but I always hoped she’d just not wake up one day and that’s it over going through all that. She was 17 and even trough all of the pain she must have been in would still walk to the backyard on her own to pee.
