Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you seriously fight fascism and don't say just vote?43·4 months ago“They” (we) aren’t being killed en masse.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you seriously fight fascism and don't say just vote?4311·4 months agoYeah, I feel like violence is evangelized online in odd ways.
The class that suffers the most in violent uprisings is the lowest class. By orders of magnitude. For every member of the bourgeois that is taken down, tens or hundred or thousands of every day people are injured or killed.

Meltrax@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.ml•Biden removes Cuba from list of State Sponsors of Terrorism212·4 months agoAh yes, only the Democrat politicians only do things for show. Certainly, certainly, only them.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If shit is present tense, and shat is past tense, is there no future tense of the word shit?1·4 months agoShall and will can be interchanged.
“Are going to” is slightly different. Still future yes, but is usually used to indicate intention rather than decisions.
“I will shit soon” and “I am going to shit” both mean basically the same thing but the connotations of those sentences are slightly different.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If shit is present tense, and shat is past tense, is there no future tense of the word shit?241·4 months agoNouns don’t need tenses.
Shit in the future and shit in the past.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If shit is present tense, and shat is past tense, is there no future tense of the word shit?74·4 months agoSimilar to many verbs that need an object, you add “will” to the present tense.
He will run. She will jump. You will shit.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Since nothing in this community is about technology we might as well talk about science fiction.English4·4 months agoNew age sci-fi, but you have GOT to read the Murder Bot books. They are absolutely incredible. They’ve also won Nebula and Hugo awards.

Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Firefox@lemmy.ml•Join Mozilla in testing the new Firefox address bar!11·4 months agoWeird vibes here. This is a beta test for a feature update to the actual browser, the part we like using. Not some AI bullshit, the actual browser.
Try it out. See if it’s good. Provide feedback if it’s bad, that’s the point. This isn’t even an announcement for a change, it’s an announcement for an opportunity to test a potential change. Just be happy they’re working on the actual thing they should be, and provide constructive feedback.

What are some daily patterns that would begin to emerge?12·4 months agoWhy would service industries continue at all? Why would anyone work service jobs? Next day they just reset. They never get paid but never go broke. No reason to work.

I use Firefox on my phone and I have Bitwarden, my password manager of choice, installed. Autofill works great, it prompts me to unlock Bitwarden with my thumbprint and it’s one tap to fill the username and password.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?2·4 months agoGreat, thanks. I want to know what OP actually wants us to do. I hate the situation we were in and I sure as shit didn’t vote for this asshole the first or second time, but other than voting and trying to survive what exactly do you want us to do to “get our shit together”.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?6·5 months agoI guess it’s much less than half.
About 1/7 are less than voting age. Another 1/7 or so voted for the oompa loompa, and another 1/7 voted against. So actually, about half of the population just doesn’t vote because they’re a different type of idiot.
I do hate it here, for what it’s worth.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?9·5 months agoNot very. His shitty propaganda machine is running itself by now.
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?34·5 months agoWas with you to the last bit. What does it mean to “grow a spine and start ‘adjusting’”? Why is “adjusting” in quotes?
Meltrax@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?89·5 months agoDude half of us don’t understand it either.
It’s amazing what decades of defunding education will do when you mix it with a healthy dose of conservative talk show TV and social media algorithms.
The immigrant population voting for Trump is the most ming boggling example of brainwashing I have seen in a long time. It even beats out all the white women voting for Trump instead of Clinton or Harris because they thought “women were too emotional to hold office”.
I do too but I feel there should be the ability to manage tab memory in a more intelligent manner than just “gobble gobble”.
