Born in '88 and this was also my childhood. But to be fair, my parents bought the PC from Sears so it was probably an older, budget model. It ran Windows 3.1 and had a 16 MHz 386 with the Turbo button.

TBF, the last time I worked a job that offered no PTO was before COVID.
These days people won’t except minimum wage shit jobs with no benefits. If a job becomes too shitty or demanding, Americans just quietly quit and move on to the next thing.

This would have taken two minutes in Photoshop or even MSPaint.

I use it to Google things because modern search engines are garbage compared to how they used to be a decade and a half ago. The AI I use (Perplexity) cites its sources, so I can verify what is fact and what is made up slop.

Probably. I’m 38 and use it daily.

Unfortunately I’m all-in on foldables so my options are even more limited. I don’t think the OnePlus Open has an IR blaster.
Plus I really, really like Good Lock, which means I’m even further limited in my choices because it’s a Samsung exclusive.

Don’t forget about the IR blaster.
Most useful gimmick on a phone ever. I never had to deal with an annoying TV in public throughout most of the 2010s. It was nice; it was one of my most-used features and I miss it dearly.

Sorry I’m bipolar. I’m trying my best.

Their*
Still blows my mind that people confuse they’re, their, and there (along with your and you’re).
I have a learning disability, yet I figured this out 20 years ago; why hasn’t anyone else? I just don’t get it. Sorry for being a dick but it is beyond frustrating that people are still fucking this up somehow.
Yup I have 1400 down / 40 up with my Fixed 5G home connection. It’s so disproportionate but still way faster than cable with no arbitrary data cap.
Uploading wouldn’t cause a noticeable slowdown for most internet uses, unless OP was also trying to upload something as well. Most ISPs offer a fraction of the upload speed as download and your average person still doesn’t even notice a slowdown.
Unfortunately I do too. I work in a lotto office. The lotto machines are over 20 years old and run XP Embedded. Thankfully the computers where we do most of the actual work have modern CPUs and NVMEs running a modern OS.

You cited a single source from a tabloid run by a Russian Oligarch. That doesn’t count. Please post multiple, verifiable sources.

Cite your sources please. Without verifiable sources, you’re just making shit up.

I know this. NASA’s animal fatalities were fewer and less often.
Sources:

Fewer human lives—sure, if you only include verified deaths—but the Soviet space program had considerably more deaths overall once you factor in other animals.

Took long enough. People are so god damn stubborn.
Windows 11 is an annoying experience out of the box, yes; like Linux, you have to do some tweaking to get it functioning the way you like it (start with installing StartAllBack to fix the Start Menu + taskbar issues, and O&O Shut Up 10 to stop the ads and telemetey) but if you’re big into HDR like me then there is no OS better than Win11 for a quality HDR experience that just works.
But if you’re not into HDR, don’t play games with kernel-level anticheat, and don’t have expensive DJ equipment that is only compatible with Windows and MacOS, then there is no reason to continue using Windows. Linux is a much better option for you.
Oh. Of course.
