Russia is a country actively occupying parts of two three much smaller countries. Where the president is wanted by the ICC for war crimes. Where the government has frequently and provably lied.

There should be a counterbalance to the approved government narrative, but Russian state-backed newspapers are absolutely the last source that should fill that role.

A Cuban or Chinese-backed newspaper, for example.

Regardless of your thoughts on homegrown propaganda, we should all be able to agree that Russian-backed newspapers are not a good counterbalance.

A Russian-controlled newspaper masquerading as a independent news source should be banned. Foreign countries should not have direct control over what another country believes.

I suppose technically it’s a solution to the immediate logistical challenges of a truce, short of Russia withdrawing and leaving Ukraine in peace. Long-term though Russia will commit all manner of war crimes to prevent the land returning to Ukraine.

It’s heartbreaking to see Trump throw Ukraine under the bus, more than the land I really hope they can at least negotiate the return of the Ukrainian children temporarily placed in foster care that were abducted into Russia. Separating children from their parents and putting them into a country that is hostile to their race is incredibly cruel, and I will never forgive Russia for it.

I wouldn’t put it past them to abolish 1-month subscriptions.

I’m not so much rotating as I am sticking with one until I (never) run out of stuff to watch. Although I mostly watch anime so 90% of everything is on one service anyway.

My solution, just put everything on a different streaming service in the “I’ll watch in 2 years when I renew my Netflix subscription for 1 month” bucket. I’m probably never gonna get around to renewing said subscription because I have so much stuff to watch regardless of which platform I use. I’ll spend the rest of my time touching grass (or more realistically, on Steam)
