win, proton and the bunch, are magic to me, but when something just up and breaks it’s usually an update. Try reading logs see what’s missing or throwing errors, and try downgrading. That’s how I usually debug at least. After you know what’s what you can search for an alternative that’s up-to-date.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•You get new speakers or you start your music library from scratch. Which is the first song/album you play?

Your sarcasm has information. I did spend a lot of money on a good ergonomic chair. Not a scam “gaming chair” but a good office one. I guess I’m not a true gamer :( But my mouse is on 3200 dpi, almost only wrist movements.
how old are you and how long did it take to develop? I’ve never hurt my hand while gaming, this “carpal tunnel” buzzword seems like a hoax to me. Should I be scared, and do some preventive mesures, or are some people just immune?
Also, I game A LOT, and I only experienced exhaustion a couple of timed after a whole day of fps games, no other genre did any strain on me.

1·1 year agoI wanted to follow up with the other error, where you didn’t open a file, so it doesn’t know where to write, but :q! always works :/
Can I somehow not discard my changes tho? I always open a 2nd terminal in root only for vim when editing system files so I don’t have to re-do the whole config but this time in sudo.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it asshole behavior to hate someone for saying "Hi, how are you?"
4·1 year agoWell, disclamer it’s all hazy, but iirc the fact that he killed the conversation.
So at the back of the class we were talking, like 3-4 of us at least, and one guy would constantly rock up and add nothing to the conversation. There were times where he asked me aside (like to talk in private) but had no topic (just looked at me all gay-like, what?), so I just told him to piss off and went back to the group. After a while we didn’t even want to hear him out, the moment he speaks our train-of-tought dies. Later it became akin to bullying.
There were more to this than that but there always is. If I have to give advice a “what are y’all talking about” so you can join in, instead of a “wow nice shirt” or some conversation starter when we are already talking about something and that something is completely irrelevant of shirts.
But ye, imagine the scenario where you are talking about how nice it was that no annoying guy were at the party yesterday, and said annoying guy joined in going “nice weather, so what were you doing yesterday?”. An extreme example, but it’s a bad idea to go to a group with an ice breaker when there is no ice to break. My two cents is that asking about the topic is nice caz if they don’t want you to know or to talk to you they’ll just go “not much” or something similar and you can instantly read that you are unwanted and leave instead of adding more fuel to the fire.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Everyday I have to block dozen of "x"-moe communities while scrolling the main feed. Is there an easier way to purge anime from main page?
52·1 year agoI know one person who posts anime in one community, never seen any other related posts, communities or instances.

Nope! My friend crashed out at me once because, according to him, I’m the only person that he sees smiling in public. In workplaces, not so much, there (almost) everyone is smiling, they make jokes all the time.
