Technology@lemmy.zip•LAPD Eyes ‘GeoSpy’, an AI Tool That Can Geolocate Photos in SecondsEnglish
3·8 months agoI appreciate that, and if a fake email works then I’ll happily give them that. But that’s it.
If I need to sign up with a real address, click a verification link, unsubscribe (possibly a few times) and remember what I gave them the next time they put up a login: No.
And if I’m not being “provided” with the story until I submit to a EULA or whatever, it is NOT being “freely provided”.
Hell, we’ll give you this lovely home in a wonderful city for free! Terms and conditions may apply.

11·8 months agoNot to worry, he’s had a team of 1000 people working 24h a day for weeks to scrub his name out.
The only time his name will appear is as the person who called the cops to arrest him for his terrible pedo crimes. (They just scratched through the original name and wrote his in in crayon but Fox News will blast that shit on 10 for a week and - bam. Epstein kills himself again.)

15·8 months agoMicrosoft’s vise grip on the delicate bits of clueless paper-pushers continues unabated.
Their products have never been “good”. In a best case scenario they didn’t actively destroy the work that was being done with them.
The reason they are a behemoth, besides being openly a monopoly, was their laser focus on baffling executives with bullshit and hiding any gruesome facts they were forced to reveal in the tiniest print EULAs anyone has ever not seen.
I see EU is just as susceptible to it, and that is truly sad.
