4·6 months agoIONOS is also a great Nextcloud provider. Can highly recommend.
Millions in marketing?
They said they didn’t have the resources to manage their Mastodon account, yet they can manage 12 other social media accounts 😂
I think we all know that their excuse was a lie.

Exactly. Linux will never become the majority OS as long as it’s not the default OS on retail PCs.

1·7 months agoBitcoin isn’t private at all. It’s a very transparent cryptocurrency.

51·7 months agoI was thinking about the aspect of privacy. Not only do you need a user, you also have to give them your payment details.
And don’t get me started on their “300 searches a month”-bullshit. If I pay for 300 searches, I want my 300 searches. Regardless of how long it takes me to use it.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Self-hosting your own media considered harmful according to YouTube
9·8 months agoIf he had hosting costs, that would mean he’s hosting his own PeerTube instance, which is definitely something big content creators should be doing. But he could start out with using Tilvids.com (like The Linux Experiment) or another PeerTube instance.
How does he backup his videos today? Wouldn’t it make sense if you used your backup solution with your own PeerTube instance?

451·8 months agoSome in the fediverse ask why I’m not on Peertube. Here’s the problem (and it’s not insurmountable): right now, there’s no easy path towards sustainable content production when the audience for the content is 100x smaller, and the number of patrons/sponsors remains proportionally the same.
How is this preventing Jeff from also uploading his videos to PeerTube? It can literally be automated by PeerTube.
If the Linux Experiment can, then why not Jeff as well?

Apple@lemmy.world•Netflix Content Begins Appearing in Apple TV App for Some Users
1·11 months agoWhy would Netflix be against that? It’s free advertisement for them.
I don’t get Mint. I use Mint, btw.
Why is “drama” on Lemmy always highly exaggerated by people?
“Endless wars of who federates with who”. What is that person even talking about and who the fuck would even care as a normal user?
Det er bare sur røv. Hvis der ikke er nogen højere oppe i hierarkiet du kan gå til, så er det bare at komme videre i livet. Du skal nok få fundet noget andet hurtigt.

Last time I tried (~6 months ago) it was quite unstable on my ASUS strix, but between then and now there has been updates.
