Indeed. I hate it. But gotta keep it around until the device is dead. :/

iTunes just doesn’t work even for really old ones for just to put some music on iPod. Haven’t tried with Wine 10 but I don’t think that’s changed. This is the only reason I keep a Windows VM with an old iTunes in it.
Until it’s fixed, we have Caffeine.
Oh you would love MeeGo then. Too bad it doesn’t exist anymore.
European Union Redstar Operating System?
Welcome!
I assume CK2 is Crusader Kings 2? If so, it already has a Linux native build. For Guild Wars 2, you can download it from Steam and use you own credentials on the launcher and play like that. It would be easier that way.
For different distros, it doesn’t actually matter that much. Just pick one you like and delve into it. You may want to change it when you learn more about Linux, but that’s for some time later.
I can only guess. People really act terrible sometimes.
Actually haven’t seen the comments myself but I can guess at this point. Maybe he should’ve completely disable it for the article.
It seems Phoronix account-walled the comments section. Hmm.
That’s probably true. Windows cannot run all Windows games either.
As a lazy person, I just prefer sftp
on thunar.
Yeah, it’s possible. This is not the first time they did this, probably won’t be the last. Though they solve the issues relatively faster comparing to years ago. That’s something.
It’d be nice if I could just drop the nvidia card and swap to amdgpu but… that’d require “a bit” of money
I’m in the same boat but I’ll most likely use this card until it’s dead or really old. I cannot imagine how the people think about that email they got from Microsoft.
I see. Then it’s possible that it doesn’t affect older cards. I have GTX 1660Ti and haven’t seen a problem, yet. However I do remember I had to downgrade Nvidia (on tty) a couple years back because it borked my system completely.
I’m currently on that version. May I ask what happened or what should I expect?
His first mistake is to call it AI.
It used to be possible to give them entirely fake IDs. When I want to delete my Facebook account, there was kind of a trend around the globe to give them McLovin ID. And so did I. It worked.
For some reason, I read this with Hedonismbot’s voice in my head, with a giggle afterwards.
It seems OP doesn’t use window decorations so those windows don’t have buttons as well as a titlebar. However the music player is using GTK3/4/Libadwaita which has built-in buttons unless you specifically disable them.
I’m more of a cyan side of the spectrum but I still dig this.
What use cases are you planning for it? I mean, antiX would totally rock on that machine. However having Wayland, being lightweight and easy to maintain is kinda tough to find. Lose Wayland part, it’s antiX. Lose lightweight part, it’s Pop OS, openSUSE Leap, etc. Lose easy to maintain part (for a newbie), it’s Arch (mostly derivatives that come with a GUI installer).
Though if I was preparing that device for someone else, I would probably go with LMDE.
