Yes indeed! You gotta pull quite a few programming speed tricks to get any sort of acceptable rendering performance when running everything on the CPU, especially on an old 486…

Sadly, I’ve actually seen a couple model laptops that were designed with one of the fan vents right above the keyboard, and only ventilated when the screen is open. VERY piss poor design, but yeah those do exist…

Nothing wrong on my Android tablet, page renders just fine here. Fennec is my default browser BTW.

But also, the program is for Windows, Mac and Linux, they don’t seem to have a mobile version.

I just tried it, sadly it doesn’t have a camera sensor option to detect and translate flashing Morse Code from another source, but it does have a Morse to Text translator that you can manually enter the incoming dots and dashes and it’ll translate back to text.

The send feature converts plain text to the appropriate dots and dashes, with options to flash the screen, the flashlight, beep over the speaker and also vibrate. Dunno why they chose red as the screen flashing color with no option to change color though…

For it to be version 1.0.1, its actually alright, it does work, although slightly clunky (but simple) UI right now. Everything, even the custom text you enter, has to be accessed in the Settings menu.

Its worth a try, I’ll be keeping it on my devices to go alongside the Survival Manual app (different developer), and hope to see some improvements and new features down the road…

Last night kinda sucked like that, but I was able to relieve the pain eventually with a combination of the other posted suggestion, generic muscle rub (basically off-brand Ben Gay), a BC powder, some beer, and restricting my neck motion for a while.

Then I rearranged my pillow to be rolled up very tight to sit under my neck while I finally got some sleep around 5:30am…

I’m just glad it didn’t settle into a long term pinched nerve again.

It is actually helping a bit, but knowing the old injury, I still need to restrict my neck motion for a while, when I otherwise want to sleep ☹️

I think I’ll be good, as long as I don’t bend my neck in any weird ways tonight. That sucks though, as I’d just as soon be asleep right now, but I tend to toss and turn in my sleep, not good for my neck at the moment.

But your advice was solid, even if it only helped like 10%, the muscle rub cream indeed has helped 👍

The sore area is very closely related to an old slipped disc and pinched nerve injury, but isn’t quite that bad again yet. You just reminded me that we have some muscle rub cream in the bathroom, and the instant I read your comment, I just went to apply some.

I just hope it doesn’t go back to being a pinched nerve, but muscle rub cream surely can’t hurt!

Fuck I’m still learning this new hardware. 🤦‍♂️

My 128GB is meant as an integrated NVME drive.

Meant to be. I literally cut a service panel hole under the laptop to remove or reinstall it whenever I feel like, or maybe eventually upgrade it.

I’ve been booting off of other devices, like my 8GB USB flash, 100GB USB HDD, and even Live Boot USB DVD drive. It’s actually been very convenient, as I can boot off of whatever the hell I want from USB.

My backup is on a 4TB, so really no worries to me, I can more or less freely experiment around with whatever OS I want, and if it doesn’t work right, I can just dd my backup over whatever again, and it just works.

But why doesn’t the dd 100GB>128GB work as I’d expect?

Obviously that’s not the exact dd command I used, for privacy reasons.
