It is, but this was a municipal project. Munich is quite frequently ruled by the SPD, but while they aren’t as right wing as the CSU, they are capable of just as much corruption and neoptism.

That’s what politicians claimed, the people more involved with the project publically contradicted that. Whom to believe? Corrupt serial liars, or people actually working on the project?

Also typical for German politics. Political corruption is practically legal in Germany. If you have enough money, you can buy pretty much any decision.

The article is conveniently leaving out the part of the story where Munich decided to revert its Linux migration only after heavy lobbying by Microsoft.

The German Greens are average politicians. But there still is a significant number of people who believe that they are different, because they are fooled by the Greens’ “progressive” rhetoric.

An engine fire isn’t necessarily an issue of the aircraft itself. Engines are quite disconnected from the aircraft they are propelling, many aircraft do have multiple engine options, and jet engines are often not even owned by the aircraft’s owner, but leased directly from the engine manufacturer in a separate contract, because they are so damn expensive.
