It sounds like it may just be an easy win. Single payer health care is not. In this case, if they can get this done with minimal fuss, I’m all for it.

Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Don’t stop striving for perfect, though.

Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

I’ve got a better one for ya. How about :

Don’t let someone literally “striving” for compromised bare minimums tell you they’re “doing good” and that you “should be thankful” and then get pissy saying “voters should be excited for the crumbs they are given” while their health insurance provider puts them on hold for 2 hours on the phone only to legally be able to pay someone far below minimum wage in the Phillipines to finally pick up the phone and tell you “sorry” after denying coverage for your loved one’s critically-necessary medication.

Because I don’t give a shit how hard it is. I want him shouting about it. I want him using Machiavellian tactics to scare the ever-loving shit out of politicians and companies making Americans’ lives worse for no reason except to further widen their absurdly massive existing profit margins and add another yacht to their fleet docked on their 7th vacation home on their private island in the Bahamas.

I want him saying to Joe Manchin to support his legislative agenda completely or that otherwise “it would be a shame if the FDA decided to rescind your daughter’s Epipen patent or start an investigation into corruption on her part by the FBI.” I want him saying to McConnell “confirm my nominees, or I’ll be sending the National Guard down to enforce even the slightest whiff of any tiny federal violation we merely just suspect members of your state government are committing every day.” I want him fucking doing mob boss shit to them all. Game of Thrones, The Wire, Breaking Bad shit… but all for good things like universal healthcare, high speed trains, and protection of marginalized groups’ rights.

I don’t care how feasible you think it is. Just the act of trying or even just passionately calling for big sweeping tangible change from the bully pulpit is enough to get people supporting you.

Instead we get proverbial “5% off coupons” that Biden swears he ran by the Republicans first who totally are on board with and definitely are his friends and won’t stab him in the back yet again… to win exactly ZERO Republicans to his side with and only serves to piss the rest of us off thinking nothing is going to ever get noticeably better.
