Conservatives and Zionists and the powers that be have been cracking down on the Pro-Palestinian encampment protests. We discuss a few ways in which the law is perverted for this purpose, in particular the use of anti-mask laws, many of which were enacted decades ago.
Summary
- Protests and direct actions spread awareness of an issue but may not lead to political change.
- Leftist protests tend to be met with brutal crackdowns by authorities.
- Right-wing protests are often allowed to get away with more before facing consequences.
- Protests may not be the most effective way to achieve policy change from a government.
- Encampment protests for Palestinian rights may not accomplish much in terms of policy change.
- Authorities may blame violence on protesters and use it as an excuse to crack down even harder.
- Occupy Wall Street and protests against the NWO and World Bank also faced crackdowns without achieving their goals.
- Cultural change and individual action can also be effective in achieving change.
