Race control is pretty trigger happy with these red flags.
You’re not kidding. If you just look at races that were red flagged then between 2001 and 2018 there was 17 red flag situations.
There have been 17 Red flags shown during races since 2020.
There has been a massive increase in Red flags since Charlie died in 2019 and that’s not even counting practice and qualifying where reds are seemingly used instead of yellow flags.
Better safe than sorry, I suppose, but it is a bit annoying when it’s pretty clearly unnecessary.
Seems that way for almost the whole season.
