Don’t use Brave.
Why the hate for Brave? It’s open source. If you don’t like the crypto stuff turn them off
My dislike for brave is mostly about its chromium base - chrome being the embrace - extend- extinguish offensive on the web from google.
There’s a lot to hate.
The company is run by Brendan Eich, the browser is just a chrome reskin, it crams crypto bullshit in your face, and they’re now testing out AI features to add to it.
New hate train, like pineapple pizza
This list has so many weird and obsolete recommendations, looks like its being refined and improved according to this, so until that’s finished, I’d take it with a heavy grain of salt.
This is sadly the way of all “awesome” lists. They start of as a curated list of awesome resources, but once they get popular they just get overrun with all & sundry so they’re just lists of not-necessarily-awesome things.
It’s interesting to see that issue though, at least someone has acknowledged the problem in this case, but I’m not sure how productive an issue like that can be? It does have some specifics but it also kinda just says “remove things which are not awesome and add things which are awesome”. Some privacy things are so divisive.
Maybe categorise popular and less popular ones
… but projects being popular is not an indicator of how awesome they are.
Be careful with recommending RaivoOTP, it’s not truth worthy anymore
Why so?
