    I understand why the other years are shown but why 1990? Just a random choice or did something happen that year that I’m forgetting?

      I mean I don’t know but I have been surprised at little things the artist has done but it was the year tim berners lee did a first like www server thing.

      Here’s some of Wikipedia’s list of important events from 1990 (reformatted into a proper list):

      • The Human Genome Project started
      • Hubble Space Telescope was launched
      • Various communist countries were in the process of collapsing
      • The Gulf War started
      • The early '90s recession started
      • The World Wide Web was invented (as the other reply mentioned already mentioned)

      I have no idea which, if any, of these events the author might have had in mind.
