I loved this show as a kid, it was the highlight of my Friday night for the better part of a decade. But I must say, after rewatching the series during the pandemic lockdowns I think the quality noticeably dipped after Matthew Lawrence joined the cast at the beginning of season 5. And seasons 6-7 are just awful.

I also think it was at it’s best in the first and second seasons. At a certain point they decided to make Corey something of a goody two-shoes that was constantly getting roped into trouble by Shawn. But originally Corey was a much more normal kid who got himself into just as much trouble as Shawn and was perfectly capable of being the ringleader himself.

Eh despite all the inconsistencies, it’s still one of my favorite shows of all time. You could always tell that they had weird run-arounds with different actors and character arcs, but the writers always made up for it in a playful manner.
