I’ve been getting this question quite often, and honestly, it’s a fair question.

Why would someone use another expense tracker when they already have Google Pay, PhonePe, or their banking app?

Here’s how I see it.

We make multiple transactions every day. UPI payments, bank transfers, bills, shopping, subscriptions, etc.

The problem isn’t making payments. It’s understanding where all that money went.

Most payment apps show transaction history, but when you’re using multiple bank accounts or payment apps, getting one clear picture of your spending isn’t always easy.

That’s why I built 1Tap – SMS Expense Tracker.

It automatically reads bank transaction SMS messages and gives you a simple overview of your spending.

No manual expense entry. No connecting your bank account. Your transaction data stays on your device.

I’m not saying everyone needs this app. If your current banking app already helps you manage your expenses, that’s great!

But for someone who wants a simple way to see their daily, weekly, and monthly spending across bank transaction messages, I think it could be useful.

The app is now live on Android and free to use, with optional Pro features.

I’m the developer, and I’m genuinely trying to understand whether this solves a real problem.

My question to you:

Do you actually track your expenses, or do you just check your bank balance and wonder where the money went? 😅

And if you wouldn’t use an app like this, I’d love to know why.

Critical feedback is welcome!
