I couldn’t find any info but what was the end result of the blackouts?
Did reddit agree or compromise, or did the movement run out of steam? Just curious if anyone knows…
There is a discussion on Hacker News, but feel free to comment here as well.
Well, we’re here and thriving
Yep. Haven’t looked back once.
Reddit held its ground and lost countless dedicated knowledgeable mods and contributors. The overall user base didn’t nosedive but there was a definite brain drain on the site.
Agreed. I used to be able to rely on adding “reddit” to my Google searches to get relevant and insightful information. That still works today (soon after the exodus), but the information there will slowly age out of relevance. By the time they figure that out it’ll be to late for them to pull out.
By all accounts Reddit doesn’t seem to give a shit. I’ve had some fun here and I use reddit maybe once a week vs 4 hours a day before they killed Reddit is Fun.
The rest of the internet got worse at the same time. Twitter, YouTube, etc.
Reddit only loses if their IPO tanks since they’ve killed their good will. Time will tell.

I think that’s the key. Had this blackout not happened I’m sure their IPO would have happened a lot sooner so at the bare minimum it’s delayed them getting their money which could be considered a win.
Hi there. Fuck Reddit
Outcome? There hasn’t really been one yet. The hullabaloo was all precursor to their IPO which has yet to happen.
