Security rarely comes in absolutes. Whatsapp doesn’t appear to be open source. That alone makes it security wise a worse choice than Signal.
Anything made by Facebook is the worse alternative.
Nobody knows, because it is closed source. It migjt be, but it might just as well not be. Best to use Signal.
