Lucy :3@feddit.orgto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•This will be *really* funny, until you remember 99% of current super hyped AI stuff is running on Python61·3 days agoDoes one even have to actually write Python code, except for frontends? I’d assume you just load the model, weights and maybe training data into pytorch/tensorflow.
Then you need to ask yourself: Performance or memory efficiency? Is it worth the extra cycles and instructions to put 8 bools in one byte and & 0x bitmask the relevant one?
Installing new apps is easy, getting rid of 100 bloat apps is not. Or rather, impossible, except for rootable phones.

Focused on new fads, long or short, eager to adopt any new trend for themselves?
Yes
The only part “AI” plays in this is giving employers the sensation that they can replace workers. Which companies that are building on trends, especially silicon valley ones, are much more likely to fall for. And I’m very sure that the “800” applications were sent to very similar companies.

The whole Samsung ROM is a pile of shit
Wouldn’t the people need to work for 60-80 hours? … Oh, you didn’t mean China, nevermind
You mean, there are valid opinions. And then there’s this.
Lucy :3@feddit.orgto Android@lemdro.id•Nextcloud cries foul over Google Play Store app rejectionEnglish1·5 days agoThat’s my major critique point of Graphene - it’s nice and all, but directly or indirectly supporting Google is pretty contrary to my goal. And, ofc, I’d much rather have a fairphone. I’d wish they’d support Google’s special security features too.

Though, I’ve never seen any warning from Nextcloud that there might be an issue due to using the gplay version

Lucy :3@feddit.orgto Organic Maps (Unofficial)@sopuli.xyz•A community-led fork of Organic Maps5·6 days agoI opened the codeberg link and the first maintainer showed there has the aneko icon as PB? I’ve never seen that icon/char before and just installed the app an hour ago.
Lucy :3@feddit.orgto Technology@beehaw.org•Yes, AI will eventually replace some workers. But that day is still a long way off8·7 days agoMeanwhile companies keep pushing “AI” (as in, LLMs integrated with image/video generation, STT and TTS, networking, file generation and reading, etc.), as traditional, useful ML, built for one purpose and fulfilling that purpose at least well, sinks into irrelevancy.
Does that work with the samsung Gallery etc. too? I thought they were installed as system apps.
