  • I know it was funky in its initial release, but I miss when openAI had free api access so a bunch of games temporarily had chat with NPCs. It was really cool.

Spacebourne 2 had an AI ship computer you could ask questions or whatever. Craftopia had all NPCs and monsters with chat capabilities which was kinda hilarious because a goblin that’s attacking you would tell you it’s peaceful and would never hurt anyone lol

It’s one thing I’ve wanted forever to be in a video game, the ability to communicate what I want to communicate and to get dynamic responses, not just some dialogue wheel or whatever

  • Unfortunately what I really think is happening/happened with “woke hate” is manipulation for political gain as you mentioned with propaganda.

These people couldn’t care less before, other than the religious zealots that would crusade against anything “gay.” The political right (I really believe this started in earnest in the US) found a pressure point to use that puts them in direct opposition to what their political adversary aims to achieve (acceptance of all people for who they are). As it stands in the US the right operates almost entirely based off of “whatever the left aims for, make it appear evil. Always oppose all that they do.” as opposed to having specific goals of their own other than “shower the wealthy with benefits, remove all barriers to retaining the entirety of profits.”

Steve Bannon recently aimed their manipulation at what he described as “rootless white men” through the lense of gaming and societys affect on games/movies. Ever since that started there’s been an “explosion” of “this game woke?” discussions in Steam discussion fourms and in regard to movies. Before this manipulation these people just wouldn’t care and if anything you’d just see the odd person here or there complain about 2 guys kissing in a specific scene or something. They are made to be even more angry now because they’re made to believe it’s an affront to them and an attempt to manipulate them and society… Which is “funny” because they are being manipulated, just not by gaming/movie media.

It’s not just that, it’s the AI bullshit they’re adding too that will absolutely have forced data scraping eventually since we’re “using their product.” They’ll have some bullshit excuse like “we don’t take your browsing data, just the data of any interaction with our AI product for training purposes.”

This is actually perfect in that enshittification is exactly like death: it comes for everyone or in the context of technology, everything.

There is no popular product or service that doesn’t eventually get the enshittification treatment to squeeze more blood from the stone.

  • Same.

I only really ever had two goals in life and I managed to fail them stupendously:

1)Not be the guy who’s miserable every day and doesn’t want to wake up to go to work.

2)To be in a loving relationship.

1 is making 2 even more difficult. On second thought it’s like an ouroboros, 1 makes 2 more difficult which compounds the misery of 1 lol

There were plenty of us that saw right through the bullshit even before the war started but unfortunately because the SCOTUS decided the election for us we were stuck with a gang of money hungry pieces of shit… I mean we still are, but we were then too…

I was young and naive so I wanted to join the military in hopes of getting some technical skills, but even as a 17 year old idiot I saw right through bushs bullshit and said fuuuuccckkkkk that. Now I work in a factory… Fuck Bush, fuck Cheney, fuck Rumsfield… War criminals the lot of them.

To get to OPs question, in America I think we have a collective shame about it so it’s pretty much never spoken about at all. The state of Iraq is only ever mentioned within the context of ISIS :(

  • A stable career path, a loving relationship, and permanent housing.

    More concise: Stability.

It’s all I ever wanted and seemingly the only thing I can never have even since childhood. I move every 2 years on average and since adulthood that’s been from basement apartment to basement apartment and now to a garage with no end in sight… I finally got to the point where I could consider buying a house and then COVID, WFH, and the invesestment parasites all blew up at once and took that away from me… I gave up on the relationship bit years ago.
