It’s almost like Android tablets could have been more common, but Google’s insistence on ignoring them for half a decade and denying them any recognition led to a long era of only iPads and Galaxy Tabs.
You read the name. You know what I am.

TL;DR
Instead of pressing the + button to open a new note, it now expands a list that includes types of notes, which you then have to press.
(I can’t upload images here…)
Only took them a decade to realise that half the features they offer would be used more if they talked about them more often. Fucking dumbasses at Google, I swear.
If they showed Android Beam this much love, or advertised and asked for developer support of Honeycomb, we’d have people saying “beam it to me” instead of having to say “Quick Share it to me” like a fucking idiot.
Same for Lockscreen widgets, same for tablet support, same for literally every single thing they did to Android.
Dude’s a solid journalist. His teardowns are insane.
TL;DR of the TL;DR
They removed bloatware.
Why didn’t they do the same for the older model tho?
Oh dude I love it! I recently donated to Thunderbird. My first Open Source donation (apart from Wikipedia). Feels good. I generally contribute through testing, but once I start earning a good amount, I’m gonna do what you did…
Exactly where I saw this too lol. Idk what the issue with the link is.
Thank you. For once, I’m happy they made a good change.
Magnetic power bank? But no mention of Qi2 support. So no magsafe implementation then.
I use a Poco F4. F5 or F6 should be good enough too! Most Xiaomi devices have massive custom ROM support. Plus openly available firmware updates.
When your entire motivation is to replicate something that you didn’t have confidence in the first time, you get Google’s Android.
No way! I wonder what changed their minds?! 🙄
What does this mean for other chromium browsers like Vivaldi? I like Vivaldi.
DUDE I SWEAR! We already had a “Without Internet” Nearby Share. WHY DO I NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET?! WHY GOOGLE?!
Why Google releases replacement products before feature parity, I will never understand.
Unfortunate but true.
Focusing on QoL over AI would be a great idea for a while. Or at least used hard-coded automation or machine learning that functions on any device.
Fair enough. Will try.
Oh, ok. Sure… So, I agree that pretty much everything can be done via a browser. But sometimes, the website falls short. The 3rd party clients end up making the service much more usable.
Idk how to explain this better than say, Letterboxd. The app sucks ass. You can’t select multiple movies and shows to add to a watchlist or a watched list. You can’t perform bulk actions. The UI is terrible. The UX is worse. But if someone were able to make use of the database that letterboxd uses, then that would make my day.
There’s gotta be a better way to deal with this… Maybe offer a way to backup data and then flash this update to get the best experience?
