  • Yeah, I know, but even his story is far from being over. He might be dead but his clan and his way if conducting business are certainly not over: assuming the opposite is exactly what mafia would like us to know since it requires ignorance from both the people and the state to thrive at the best of its abilities.

Cave semper canem when talking about mafia and choose your words carefully as they are vmmasters if trickery and deception on top of being horrible human beings (if such kind of animals can be even called “humans” at this point).

Peppino Impastato forever an hero, Messina Denaro forever a shitstain on the heel of the Italian boot

  • Problem is that communist views don’t threaten the American constitution as the case Yates Vs. United States has confirmed. With this decision the high court has set a precedent where a distinction was made between political positions that advocate for abstract points are not the same as advocating for immediate or future actions.

Since this beast of a woman has already shown her disregard for the American constitution by supporting the people who tried to golpe the political system, adding another tally to the treasonous list must not be a big deal for you, who are such an enlightened centrist.

Not a conservative but not an intelligent person either I see. You therefore must be a centrist :)

  • Because that’s not how a functional society works. If Texas wanted to secede from the USA the whole USA would have to be called in this decision. You can’t do what Puidgemont did in Catalunya, call for a referendum in the specific region, count the votes and declare independence from the central government. You are part of the government, if you want to secede this must be a common choice.

If you were an adult you might understand this with a (non-perfect) similitude with divorce: you cannot divorce by yourself, you need to sign the documents as a couple for divorce to take place.

That’s also why Russia’s claim of annexation of the Ukrainian regions has no value for the international law, it’s a faux secession with no bearing on the Ukrainian national rights

  • As much as I’d love to agree with you I unfortunately do not. Disability can absolutely be a tool to teach ableist people how does it feel to be in the shoes of people on the other side of the fence. I’ve seen too many people realizing what meant living a disabled life following an illness or an accident to refuse the simple truth that ableists and people unable to empathize with lives lived with disabilities or illnesses can be thought the real impact of disability by disability itself.

I’m absolutely not punching down at disabled people, in the contrary I’d love for those who punch you down to feel what is like to live your life so that maybe they could understand why disabled people need laws and regulations which may help them in their day-to-day life, that’s all

  • I’d like to suggest a cancerous growth in a very painful area or a debilitating illness which may prevent them from functioning as a normal human being to make them understand the feeling of being in a helpless situation.

But it would be enough for them to lose their next election and therefore the right to issue legislations against the common good while seeing the American politic shifting towards a more progressive future and being unable to steer the course the modern world has taken.

God, I’d love nothing more than seeing this bunch of retrograde ape-men and women being forced to live in a world where their religion is tolerated but completely inconsequential to the democratic process. Let them rot away in complete silence and watch them ravel in their uselessness

  • Hello there, Italian here. As a foreigner interested in American politics I have studied the congressional district history and I’m fascinated by it and its developments during the course of the American experiment.

Mainly I am in awe of the idea created by the founding fathers to achieve a better representation in a very different time. These young men understood the implications of having a great population scattered on an even greater territory and they saw how society would have ended structuring itself up: a huge chunk of people living in most dense-populated cities and a smaller minority occupying the rest of the national soil in scarce-populated villages and towns. They understood that to keep the voices of these minorities heard you’d have to balance the voting system or, would the cities ally, the political system would have been tilted in their favour. Furthermore communication among long distances was not as easy and clear as today; news about a representative being involved in shady businesses in Washington would have had difficulty to travel to far away places, thus rendering the oversight duty of the people even harder to attain. That’s why you need state representatives, to have someone informed about what’s going on in Washington DC all the time.

The system has not yet realised tho that the times they are a-changing, as one of your musicians would say. In the internet era the situation is completely different as it was 250 years ago and this would require some tweaking in the machine’s clogs to update its viability. Gerrymandering should be abolished and states should move to a direct democracy system where each vote bares the same weight as all others; multi-agencies oversight should remain and should even be expanded to ensure the inclusion of as many points of view possible; recognize and face the change of societal structure by adding minorities in the legislative and policing processes.

All this must be centered around some civil assumptions which are already enshrined in the Constitution: personal responsibility and freedom, right to be happy, state atheism.

The reason why I sometimes bash Americans in my comments is because I see how strong their system is and how better and stronger it could become but they seem to choose always the worst possible option when are given that chance to improve on their ways. But then again, you are talking with someone who saw Berlusconi reign over Italy for a good 30 years, so what right do I have to be annoyed at you for having Bush and Trump in the past 25?

  • You seem to equate a family not having a body with not having news of that soldier. But Ukraine has been collecting and identifying Russian bodies since the start of the war, and notifying families wherever possible. Many of the soldiers also have their own phones, and those phones have told the west a great deal about what is really going on behind Russian lines. Yet you seem sure that none of those soldiers would use their phones to speak of deaths within the unit. Interesting take.

You seem to forget that, following the bombing caused by a massive presence of phone signals in a single spot, Russia has been much more careful in letting its trooper use their cellphones. Beside that I imagine a family not having any news from his relatives at the front would be anxious for their loved ones and would start asking questions, even if it meant facing criminal charges. Ukraine can identify a portion of the bodies from the battlefield I imagine, and they would be able to reach the families of an even small percentage I reckon.

LOL. Think that over a bit and get back to me. Seriously.

I’ve thought about it and I really can’t see who can pay Wagner’s operators salaries, let alone arming them according to their standards (much better than the Russian army ones, can we agree on that?).

As far as I know Russia pays its soldiers 300-400€ a month and Wagner mercenaries are paid circa 2k (those who are not serving instead of being in a cell). Prigozhin was capable of providing for Wagner through his affairs in Africa and through the money he got from the Kremlin, will Putin be able to substitute such an income? What will happen if not? I’ve got my answers but they are just hypotheticals, who will live will see.

True enough. But that does not make either of us an expert on Russian affairs. His article does make one of us a fantasy writer, though.

He certainly knows Wagner better than you since he probably met them on the battlefield.

Works for me, lol. It’s just an opinion, and everyone’s got one.

But it helps, when forming an opinion, to acquaint oneself with all available fact first. And to be completely honest, you didn’t even spot the most questionable opinion in my post. (Hint: Who is Sergei Shoigu?) But keep working on it, because as far as I’m concerned the more people that are interested in the subject as whole, whether right or wrong, the better.

Thank you for taking the time to state your disagreement.

No problems, it’s a pleasure to have a conversation about these thematics since there is always to learn about any subject. In this sense, who is Sergei Shoigu? What I know about him is that he is a Putin sycophant only good as a yes man and coming from a political career scarcely linked to any military activity. Am I missing any information about the man?
