2·1 year agoPretty sure the dev did add sponsor block but in another repo/app name. Or maybe it was another dev. Anyway Tubular is new pipe with sponsor block, snd PipePipe is a hard fork with other extras.

Linux@lemmy.ml•if you use GrapheneOS on a pixel device, is it something you'd recommend for a privacy worried user? How seamless is running it after install?English
2·1 year agoIf I’m running mostly f-droid apps, and play services is not installed (e.g. I cant run YT-Revanced as it needs gapps).
Then does that mean I should be able to move over to graphine without much issue?
What abkut the one or two apps uninstall throguh Aurora store, woild they work?

2·1 year agoTried this 6-9 months ago and it was a shambles that I could hardly get working.
The main issue (once it was working) was program (Stremio) not supporting keyboard only options.
I also wanted to run android apps full screen (like a dog nvidia shield) but it was chaos.
I thought it was abandoned.
Down voted to hell but whatever.
Xmanager it installs spotify patched without ads and premium features, the same as using revanced really. Its been cat and mouse for a long time but its pretty much down now.
Similar for the manga apps. They constantly get formed and taken down.
Invidious for YouTube is another example. Great when these things work but they need constant patching and fixing. The average person can’t just pick them up and use them.
Nearly got bingo with FOSS apps. Specifically used to avoid paying big corporations (Spotify, Netflix, google)

1·1 year agoAm I right in thinking the steps here scrape metadata images etc for the eBooks you already have. And that you may already own them via legal or high seas methods.
Or is there a way for Calibre to auto download eBooks from somewhere.
Implying Lemmy is the best/only place to get political news. :/
Some of us come here for fun and get our doom elsewhere.
I think the whole key is more of a conversation starter than just QR code. We all know what they are and dont ask people questions aboit them.
Does it have persistence when rebooted ?

8·2 years agoThis just hit me.
How long until governments create email accounts or digital identities (I mean they already have the latter). Then they force social media platforms (who n turn force users) to use/link that as age verification and content blocking.
Can somone please send me a screenshot of this. Preferably with a red circle so I knlw what to look at.
As somone living outside USA is there anyway to get this content off my feed? Ive blocked so many keywords in Voyager, but memes dont get picked up. Generally the the words arnt in the title.

4·2 years agoGot a libre2 recently as a gift. My first ereader. I was able to plug it into the PC. Change a line of code and reboot.
Thst made the email prompt go away.
Then installed koreader and syncthing on it. I DL books on Android and it syncs over to Kobo. I can even read via koreader app on andrpid and it syncs progression.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you feel about mandatory 2fa policies?English
7·2 years agoI get it, but fuck it’s beyond annoying sometimes. Its also impossible for homeless/at risk people who dont hold onto phone numbers or 2FA apps.
With luck they can guess an email password or reset it. But when 2fa is tied to a mobile 3 numbers ago, or needs the exact same device. Its fucked
Then you have to call the government (verbally Thanks for gov accounts) who are increasingly hard to get hold of coz its all a robot phone tree telling you to go online. Then when you so get someone you have to provide ID (thst they may or may not have a copy of) and start again.
Every time. Its near impossible.

Do you pay? None of the “slow” links load for me. So not sure I trust them to pay.
