You can change the audio track but you have to do it on every video. What’s more annoying is it can’t even decide on a language. I’ve had both Spanish videos auto dubbed to English and English videos auto dubbed to Spanish.

Technology@beehaw.org•Only 1 in 3 Euro consumers are trading in their old phones
7·7 months agoI never trade in. Every old phone I’ve had has seen more use than the value of trading it. Most go to a relative then back to me for some secondary use. Plus it’s good to have a backup device in case something happens to your main phone.

Do you get to choose it with a budget or they buy whatever cheap, uncomfortable thing was available? I’d much rather use my own equipment if I’m gonna be using it everyday.

Buy European@feddit.uk•PSA: FREENOW has just been acquired by Lyft
4·9 months agoWe actually had a local alternative here, BEAT. Then FreeNow bought it and we had to switch apps which was annoying but hey at least it wasn’t Uber. Now this gets bought too. I guess it’s either Uber or Lyft now.

[moved to piefed] movies@lemm.ee•Hollywood Is Cranking Out Original Movies. Audiences Aren’t Showing Up.English
25·9 months agoAnother thought, when 80% of cinema movies are based on franchises you don’t care about, you kinda stop following cinema schedules. Movies that are not expected to do well are also given less time in cinemas and worse time slots. I did watch Mickey17 because I knew about it beforehand but usually by the time I learn about a movie I actually want to watch it’s already on its way out of the cinema.
*then we’ll have code that may or may not be ok and no more senior programmers to check it.

Ask Android@lemdro.id•Discussion: Samsung kills the MicroSD card slot for their latest Midrange/Budget A-Series phones. What do you think about the future of MicroSD Card Slots? Will other manufacturers all follow suit?English
4·10 months agoWhat’s most annoying is that midrange phones do not have that much storage to begin with. I tend to keep my phones for 3-5 years and storage always becomes an issue before the battery (even when all photos live in the SD card) because apps require more with every update. I can’t imagine having both media and apps in internal storage.

(I think the initial title said busses too and in a brainfart moment I followed along)

33·10 months agoThank you, it also means the busses do not have a uniform color making them harder to spot. Even if it’s a “nice” ad it’s still an ad.
Do you count herbal tea? We have a lot of that in southern Europe. Here’s some from Greece (probably not exported though) https://www.finoherbs.gr/en/product-category/teabags/ This site is very low on details but most of these herbs grow here naturally and they probably do in adjacent countries too.

Buy European@feddit.uk•Buying local is a much more enjoyable experience
13·10 months agoTo be fair that’s probably because you were searching for Carcassonne which you can find pretty much everywhere. The problem with local is finding a store that actually sells what you want.
With clothes for example you can look through every shop in a commercial area and still not find what you’re looking for if it’s not currently in fashion in your country. Second hand shops are very good for this and I have many clothes from the UK and czechia this way. But this only really works for clothes.
