Five calls Jeremy? Five? That’s insane

Okay, so some of the advances that chatGPT uses (consumer GPUs for training) are even older? 😁
As far as I can find out, there was only one use of GPUs prior to alexnet for CNN, and it certainty didn’t have the impact alexnet had. Besides, running this stuff on GPUs not CPUs is a relevant technological breakthrough, imagine how slow chayGPT would be running on a CPU. And it’s not at all as obvious as it seems, most weather forecasts still run on CPU clusters despite them being obvious targets for GPUs.
AlexNet is related, it was the first use of consumer gpus to train neutral networks no?
ChatGPT didn’t begin 18 months ago, the research that it originates from has been ongoing for years, how old is alexnet?
Preemptive nuclear strikes on all gpu chip fabs? There’s only like 7 of them
If one’s made one’s software well, the easiest UI to make is one that’s easy to use
If I’m buying a bus ticket, i shouldn’t have to troubleshoot imo
Lot’s of software is just shit/hard to use
Is it not time to retire the tradgirl image macro?
Interesting that we’ve made progress on world hunger to the extent that 1 in 5 kids is now overfed, I swear when i grew up we were told child hunger was ubiquitous in the majority of the world’s population
Don’t use plungers, just use a heap of oxygen bleach and possibly also soap (and time)
Russia is already fighting all of NATO in some areas, Ukraine already uses NATO training and aerial reconnaissance/space reconnaissance resources, British troops on the ground perform some of the steps (Ukrainians performing the others) to fire missiles
“we have to defeat the undemocratic enemy who murders their internal political opponents, and its important we kill evil traitors within our own nation to do this”
I have never know if it’s a ‘therapist’ "how are you? " or a ‘this is how two humans begin conversations’ “how are you?”
Doesn’t surprise me at all lol, technology is always broken
