If a school or library receives e-rate funding then they are required by law to monitor students online activity and protect their privacy from 3rd parties. They also typically have security practices that must be in place for their insurance company. The school board and parents could whine and complain about student privacy all they want but the law and their pocketbooks will make these decisions for them

I got the Spotify car thing as a pre-order when it was like $20 or $40 or something like that. It was fucking awesome… Until it wasn’t. That shit started power-cycling every few minutes. I was in a dollar store the other day that had 2 GIANT posters on the front doors saying “NO CASH” “We cannot accept cash payments at this time” and while I was in there I saw 3 people get told they can’t accept cash and then the shoppers left the store in a huff.
