1·7 months ago/e/Foundation, which Murena, Nextcloud, /e/OS, etc. is part of. It’s not a company, but an association of FOSS devs. Cloud server in Finland, from NextCloud or as Murena Cloud as part of the Murena Workspace, which unify all the different apps, which as OpenSources naturally can be used independent.
The best ever is Murena Workspace, OpenSource, privacy focused, also self hostable, very complete and EU made. Even offer Murena Phone (FairPhone) with installed /e/OS, Cloud Service with affordable prices (1GB free). by the /e/Foundation.

1·7 months agoWell, you can use it as such, storing the notes locally with the corresponding title. You’ll find a lot more on the SSuite, maybe there you’ll find something els which may serve you, anyway good to bookmark it, it’s pretty usefull.
But I also remember another app, an old Gem, OpenSource which may fullfit your needs, it’s a very powerfull tree style note taking app, rich text format and if you need, also syntax highlighting for programming scripts. (Windows, Linux) (.rtf, .txt, scripts)

2·7 months agoNot OpenSource, but free, reliable and private, online right in your browser, it’s a complete word processor, you can also edit Html, select webpages and paste it in the editor which conserve the original UI with all working links, Files and documets are stored locally in .htm, .pdf or .txt. Blazing fast and works also in mobile, even as PWA.

(Part of the SSuite, it’s a hobby project of two elictricians which make money with their workshop, not with these apps, no commercial interests, no ads, logs, tracking or othe crap, no account)

31·7 months agoMurena Workspace is IMHO the best alternative of Google Docs, OpenSource and made in the EU, Murena is also the author of NextCloud which has an collaboration platform, /e/OS and associated with FairPhone, a complete infrastructure privacy focused.

What has the setting of nVidia or visiting the Wikipedia to do with child protection? Certainly old guys which confuse a remote control with an smartphone , don’t should be authorized to make internet laws.

I know, I lived my youth in the cold War, seeing leaked secret US documents listing where they want to launch nuclear atacks in western EU contries, to stop an supposed Russian invasion.
Most of the current wars and bloody dictatorships wouldn’t exist without the US
Terrible the 9/11 with 3000 victims, Chile 1973, when the CIA organized an military coup and to kill an democratic elected president, Allende, substituting him with an bloody dictator, Pinochet.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Allende
Augusto Pinochet ruled Chile as a military dictator from 1973 to 1990, seizing power through a violent coup that overthrew democratically elected President Salvador Allende on September 11, 1973[1].
Under Pinochet’s regime, between 1,200 and 3,200 people were executed, up to 80,000 were interned, and tens of thousands were tortured[1:1]. The Chilean government has officially documented at least 3,095 killings and forced disappearances[1:2].
The dictatorship implemented radical free-market reforms under the influence of economists known as the “Chicago Boys.” While these policies led to economic growth, they also dramatically increased inequality. The regime privatized social security, healthcare, and hundreds of state-owned enterprises, some sold below market price to politically connected buyers[1:3].
Pinochet’s rule was marked by systematic repression through Operation Condor, a U.S.-supported campaign that targeted political opponents across South America. The CIA maintained contact with Chile’s secret police (DINA) despite knowing of human rights abuses[2]. According to Peter Kornbluh in The Pinochet File, “routine sadism was taken to extremes” in prison camps, including widespread rape, torture, and executions[1:4].
A 1988 plebiscite rejected Pinochet’s bid to extend his rule, with 56% voting against him[1:5]. He stepped down in 1990 but remained as Army Commander-in-Chief until 1998. He was arrested in London in 1998 on human rights charges, though he was released in 2000 on medical grounds[1:6].
Pinochet died in 2006 while facing hundreds of criminal charges in Chile for human rights violations, tax evasion, and embezzlement. He was accused of amassing at least $28 million through corruption[1:7]. His death sparked massive demonstrations across Chile - opponents celebrated while supporters grieved[1:8].
Today, Pinochet’s legacy remains deeply controversial. Recent polls show many Chileans justify the 1973 coup - a July 2023 survey found 66% agreed Chile needs “firm government” over individual rights[3]. However, in 2011 a truth commission identified 40,018 victims of political repression during his rule, including 3,065 killed[1:9].

2·7 months agoI know very well that it is known which pages I visit, when authorities pretend it.
I’m normally not a friend of AI, but despite of this I use Andisearch as my main search engine since almost 3 years, because with it, I don’t have even the need to access most of the pages, I can read these in the own reader mode in the search results and summarize the content, sandboxed and with random proxie. The search concepts don’t even appears in the browser history only that I searched with Andi, but not what, I can watch YT videos also direct in the search results. It’s one of the most private search engine which I know, and I know almost all also thanks to an user. Free, no limits, no logs, no ads, no cookies, anonymous, own independent LLM.
