It’s not supposed to do that. My FP3 got unresponsive after a while as well. The trick was to open it up and gently tighten all screws.

Problem is that there is a previous blissful state of ignorance rule 34, so you are caught in a loop.

3·3 months agoAccording to the PS4 user guide (https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps4/settings/controlleroff.html) it can be done, so I reckon it is either a bug in the linux driver or in the Steam software.
