Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's up with this straight up pro-china and pro-russia stuff on Lemmy lately?
3·10 months agogovernment is unelected and visibly does authoritarian stuff such as censorship, violent repression of various undesireables and supression of independent worker’s unions?
all of these claims are provably false.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Can't we do anything as google is killing AOSP and custom ROMS
271·10 months agoOf the largest android sellers, only samsung requires gplay. Xiaomi, vivo, oppo, realme, honor, are all chinese companies that require non-bundled google play for their domestic (and maybe other countries?) releases. Google can’t alienate these sellers, and if they did, all of these companies would create their own AOSP fork (or just switch to HarmonyOS)
I recently bought a xiaomi android tablet that doesn’t have google play services luckily.

The authorities would literally nail your door shut from the outside if one person in your city block was tested positively and many people almost starved in their flats during these absolute lockdowns.
These are some yeonmi park level claims.

313·10 months agoNot going to take any official australian government response at their word, sorry. Their case doesn’t hold water if you read any of the articles above.

No probs! There’s an audiobook of it here also.
Bourgeois democracy (ie capitalist dictatorship) is a rigged game, you can’t beat capitalists at a game where they stack the candidates / players.
Even the ancient greeks knew that representative “democracy” based on elections always results in an aristrocracy and not democracy, because wealthy / upper class candidates and families are the only ones who have enough money to fund their campaigns and win the popularity contest, and then run the governments in the interests of their own class.
It serves as a distracting theatre piece / reality tv show, gives the illusion of democracy, platforms the reactionary views of the ruling class, and builds consent for the system itself.
Marxists rediscovered that by the 1800s, and liberals can’t wrap their heads around it in 2025.
Even alternative voting systems don’t make a difference, that just makes the candidate stacking more expensive. Whether in japan, australia, the UK, France, bourgeios parliamentarism has proven to be the safest and most stable shell for capitalist dictatorship.
What’s this from?

I love how the snopes article on this one is like: Did the entire canadian parliament honor a nazi who fought against the USSR in WW2?
Yup, they did it:

The US has by far the worse human rights record, and is easily the most evil empire in world history. They just killed over a million innocent civilians a few years ago in Iraq, running torture camps and assassination programs. Its perpetrated countless atrocities in nearly every single country .

No elected liberal leader has decried this ongoing genocide. Every single one supports Israel, and other settler colonial projects just like it. Liberal countries have been the main perpetrators of colonialism in the modern era, so this is nothing surprising.
Liberal means you support capitalist rule over society, and also their preferred model of governance (bourgeios parliamentarism / capitalist dictatorship) as being “superior” to any alternatives, and especially the existing socialist alternatives.
Also since this model was first adopted by three colonialist western countries (UK, US, and Netherlands) in the 1700s, and adopted by most of western europe shortly after, it mostly coincides with a strong belief in white / western supremacy, as being the only “legitimate” form of governance.
The best book I could recommend here, is Losurdo’s Liberalism - A counter history.
I think it’s implied that the predator did kill a lot of them, otherwise they wouldn’t have the demon legend.
But predators also have a stricter moral code than humanity’s big game / trophy / regular hunters, who mostly kill defenseless creatures. They won’t kill anything unarmed, or who can’t harm. And in predator 2 they refuse to kill a captured prey (danny glover) that successfully defended himself and killed one of their own, and even give him one of their trophies out of respect.
Overall tho hunting is an activity mostly done by bored bourgeois parasites… the villian of the short story the most dangerous game is a russian tsarist aristocrat who hunts people for fun.

The stormfront / kiwifarms strategy seems to be to set up shop anywhere that won’t ban them, and lets them doxx whoever they want. And there are A LOT of lemmy servers that won’t take action and ban them.
