Unfortunately I don’t know the name of it or anything lol. It’s a pretty unremarkable tune all things considered…it is just nostalgic to me!

Quite frankly I’m just lazy. I’ve always hated picking up my things and I’ve struggled with organization since I was a child. I think with me…my parents never really got on me about being neat and organized. So I never got into the habit. Still turned out fine! It just means I frantically clean before people come over lol.

Some people drink coffee for the caffeine. But honestly, I never really cared about that part. I just love waking up with enough time to relax a bit with a nice cup of Joe. :)
dingus@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do people wake up in the morning and then sit staring into space for about 20 minutes?English17·1 month agoMy brain and body don’t immediately activate when I wake up.
Think of it like when you had to wait several minutes for Windows 98 to boot from a slow mechanical HDD platter lol!!
It’s kind of silly, but a long time ago when I pirated more games and software, I stumbled onto one of these key generators for one of my programs that I thought just had the best chiptune lol. Anyway, it has been my ringtone for years and years now.
My text tone is the RCT1/2 notification sound. Works perfectly as a phone notification noise haha. I’ve had this one for years and years too.
No prob! Best of luck on your journey!
Oh! There is a fantastic app that I used early last year! It was totally free with like zero ads or anything. It’s incredibly basic and limited in its features, but perfectly suited for what I wanted.
It’s called “Just Run: Zero to 5K”. The app icon is a white shoe on top of a green background.
I used it on Android, but it looks like it is available on iOS as well. It basically trains you to run 30 minutes continuously. For me, I generally take a bit longer than 30 mins to complete a 5K, but the app worked well enough to get me there.
It also has training up to a “10K” (running 60 minutes continuously…and again, it takes me longer than an hour to run a 10K).
I used it for a couple of weeks and then bought myself a cheap smartwatch to keep track of the actual distance I was running. The smartwatch helped me stay motivated because I could see a timer and distance on my wrist…whereas the app just gives you audio cues. But the app helped me stay motivated because I liked being able to click each time that I completed the workout. Note that the app does NOT seem to link up to a smart watch. Like I said, it’s a basic app.
I completed the 5K leg of the app in several months, and then I can’t remember if I used the app to get to 10K or not. I don’t use the app anymore because I have completed it…instead just electing to use my smartwatch on its own. At this point, the longest I have ran is 10 miles, but generally I only run 7-9 miles.
Best of luck! I’m certainly no expert, but if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer!
So what I suspect happens is that in newer development communities, the people building them just seem to find it easier to level/bulldoze an entire plot of land to build a neighborhood. Then they just don’t feel like putting plants and trees back in after construction is complete out of pure cost and laziness.
For older neighborhoods in the US, you’ll find a lot more foliage. I love it when I go to an older neighborhood that has large trees that canopy the area. They do exist here…it’s just that they have to be a bit older. My condo complex has some wonderful tall trees and plants everywhere. It’s not a new complex though and they seem to care more about plantife than some others do. They even randomly planted a massive tree last year for some reason lol. Seemed to require some pretty big machinery to haul it and put it in lol.
Before I bought my current place, there was another complex I was looking at. The trees were even larger and provided even more of a canopy across the area. It was gorgeous. And again, the neighborhood was a bit older.
This is not related to your convo, but I love your username
dingus@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How is dating with your mental disorder if you have one?English101·2 months agoUnfortunately I am not really meant for the dating world. I have absolutely never had a libido, could never feel sexual pleasure, have extreme social anxiety, and am also too mentally unstable for people to be dealing with me all of the time. Growing up was sure odd to see people start pairing up with one another begining in my pre-teen years. At that time in my life I was too busy chanting insult words repeatedly to myself walking around the halls at school to really speak to other people too much.
Here I am as a full fledged adult now in my 30s. At least I’ve managed to stay employed so far with a decent career. But I’ve been causing issues at my job due to my instability that may threaten that.
But dating has never been in the cards for me. I’ve never really done it and will definitely die alone. It’s weird because at least a part of me is still human and still needs human connection.
sigh
Idk. Good luck out there, OP. What flavor of issues are causing you to struggle with it?
That doesn’t look anything like a pizza. More a taco before it is closed.
dingus@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How good are you at making eye contact with peopleEnglish4·2 months agoI’m generally pretty good at it when I am comfortable with someone. But when I am anxious or sad I cannot for the life of me make eye contact with anyone.
dingus@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What does everyone here do when you can’t sleep and are wide awake besides being on phone? [serious]English25·2 months agoI mean, I know it’s entirely opposite to the accepted advice…but when I can’t sleep, I actually find it helpful to go on my phone.
Scrolling social media doesn’t help though. What helps is putting on long form videos on YouTube that aren’t overly engaging. It helps if you’ve seen them before too. If my thoughts are racing, having something else to focus on (but not too focused) helps a ton.
Sitting in the dark without a mild stimulus doesn’t help, despite what the common advice given seems to be.
I know you said you can’t have sound, but what about headphones?
dingus@lemmy.worldto Science@lemmy.ml•There is no safe amount of processed meat to eat, according to new research | CNNEnglish3·2 months agoI know, right? One hot dog a day sounds like excess junk food consumption to me, not minimal consumption. These people clearly already do not have a decent diet and probably have other poor lifestyle choices. So it seems disingenuous to say that there is no safe minimum level of processed food consumption when their “minimum” is already excessive.
I get that this stuff increases cancer risk, but so does everything. Enjoying life without being too excessive with anything is what we should all shoot for. Life is a balance.

But the biggest downside of wireless charging for me is I can’t use my device while it’s charging. Wireless chargers in the vast majority of scenarios aren’t even getting rid of wires. You still need to connect the wireless charger to the wall with a cable.
There was a dog I followed on YT who was supposedly named Cumlord. He was fucking adorable but unfortunately I think he passed away.

My parents used to warn me that I might end up cracking a tooth on the kernels. I still eat them anyway. Probably gonna regret that one day lol.
dingus@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Alright fine I admit it, I want to learn LinuxEnglish353·3 months agoIf your library is on steam, then there’s nothing to worry about! Works natively on Linux. If your library is on other platforms, I’d honestly think twice about switching full time. Dual booting might be a better option. My library is split amongst multiple platforms and I decided that it wasn’t working well enough for me. Steam games will work great though!
Many distros are easy enough to install and navigate as a newbie. My go to for years now has been Linux Mint! It’s based on Ubuntu which is based on Debian.
You’re ok, OP! It’s normal to want to share and also normal to not want to share! Everyone is different! Some people are more “stoic”, introverted, quiet, etc. and there’s nothing wrong with that or you!
I think you should talk to your partner about how they feel about the fact that you don’t share much. Because we are all different, they may want you to open up a bit more or they may be indifferent towards it. Relationships are going to be a bit of a compromise.
But again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being that way. :)
Edit: A lot of people have boring as fuck days too without much to share lol. If something interesting or funny happened during your day, your SO might appreciate a share!
