any time you buy DRM’d content you’re subject to revocation of rights to use it. So buying such content along with purchase of devices geared specifically for DRM-only content is doomed from the beginning.

funny that nobody argued opposite: all the new services are primarily streaming/hosted and otherwise “not here”. New crop of tech solutions requires crap-ton of bandwidth. So caps prevent those companies from doing ripping off customers in other areas. How un-Republican is that? They are getting in the way of enterprises making a living! So the most Republican thing to do would be to let foxes watch the henhouse. Ask ISPs to regulate themselves so that “everybody”'s (and I mean every enterprise) happy. In other words getting in the way of this proposal is very much just “polid’ticking” trying to undo what dems are doing regardless whether it’s actually a conservative thing to do or not.
Didn’t previous report show NDP and Cons tied across the board? Too much swing IMO… or is it “close election day” effect?
some crypto learned to be efficient, others did not. We still do have crypto-mining botnets. Crypto remains to be useless to humanity and very profitable for few. Same with AI. Same with stock market. Instead of producing something of value we keep on burning through resources while selected few enjoy bonfire others have to fight to stay alive…
not only does he burn through cash, he burns through resources making life worse now for everybody: AI rivals crypto in resource waisting while not contributing at all to any improvements. I fail to see “brighter future” for us through AI as it is energy-intensive, unsustainable endeavor for which we are woefully unprepared both materially (energy efficiency, semiconductor manufacturing/recycling, etc) and psychologically (ethics etc.). Yeah, grand on paper, terrible in reality
that is conservatives favourite tactic: rebates and checks while they bleed the social support services. then rebates fall under “frivolous spending that’s ought to stop” and unsuspecting public ends up with no rebates and no social support system. works miracles, ask Albertans. UCP was set to lose and then… just before elections they’ve sprinkled some cheques here and there and… lo-and-behold: they’ve won ( going back to their shenanigans immediately after taking office ). TLDR; those things comimg from politicians are trojan horses, from comservative politicians - doubly so. System needs fixing to not stink rather than gifting everybody a gallon of Febreze…
putin said same thing about tanks, long range rockets and planes… Ukraine got all of the above and nothing followed. Those are hollow threats of a desperate maniac who’s cornered himself
My understanding is that party with the most votes gets to form government, is it not so?
Liberal path to success:
beats
kind of tells you how different Liberals are from Conservatives
then why trump this one up?
look at the numbers. NDP +Libs outnumber them in Parliament so anything they try to pass… including budget is in NDP+Libs hands… if budget does not pass… it’s auto-trigger for election if memory serves me right.
lack of “social intelligence”. They mostly rose through the ranks because their technical (or business) skill. They never had to act for benefit of others to advanve
minority government with NDP+Lib holding majority is OK. Cons can grab majority but will be gridlocked on every move, meaning we’ll retain status quo for a bit, until Libs and NDP will decide to call election
looking at the graph it does leave impression that Lib losses went straight to NDP gains
understated detail: NDP snuck up on Libs? that’s a pleasant surprise. Maybe people did notice that all of recent progressive changes were forced by NDP onto Libs… interesting
while it’s great Canada still remembers about Ukraine existence, but $5m is less than budget of small Canadian municipality. Canada can and should do more. We have other items on agenda that require resources and attention, but contribution of that size start to look less like token contribution and more like insults.
Canadian Taxpayer Federation is usually a front to Conservative activists. On election year, paint me surprised, but they did come out swingin’ to blame non Conservatives for every ill out there.
at this point all major chipmakers have proven that innovation is dead, nobody cares about “boring” fratures. We can finally take a step back and reflect on why did we end up here
Russian ties, if present, are indeed dangerous. Laying unsupported claims to “russian connection” is just as bad as any other libel or damaging unsupported claim. Should we spend time eradicating russian influence - absolutely. How do we do it without turning it into a witch hunt? I don’t know how.
