I never got the point of civil pride. I was born and raised in a third world country, and people left and right were saying how proud they are to be from there. The fuck y’all proud of? Trash everywhere? Tourists getting scammed and harassed? Your own government making people “disappear”? Your president building unnecessary bridges and crippling the economy?
It always sounded so stupid honestly

It’s kinda hitting the early 2010s 9gag nostalgia for me right now with all the shitty memes.

So really, I still go to reddit on my PC, but most of my usage used to be on the phone, now here I am on lemmy, on my phone, taking a shit.
In essence Lemmy has replaced Reddit for me where it really matters.
Yes, the US has abysmal public transport (at least in houston, tx in my case) compared to even third world countries like Egypt. It’s downright embarrassing.
For me personally, receiving a ‘just wanted to check in’ feels less aggressive than ‘when can I expect an update’
Otherwise I agree with the rest
I personally turned down a couple of jobs because their insistence on a non wfh schedule.
