Yeah, not mine, buddy
And I don’t give a shit.aboyt your skin color so you can stop the “racism!!!” right there.
You’re openly defending a dictatorship that -amongst other fun things- commits genocide. I think we can leave it there already, discussion over.

Tmone way or another, those jets are coming, be it from the US or elsewhere, might as well be Sweden. At least this is had for the US which, again, is not much more than silver linings, but it’s something

AI companies are criminal as far as I am concerned

Technology@beehaw.org•AI industry horrified to face largest copyright class action ever certified
2·8 months agoYet so far it seems the only real solution at hand. Under the Cheeto, AI companies basically have free reign to race for who gets to make the first Skynet, nobody cares anymore as long as it’s more more more, and the goal justifies the means. Sacrifice the environment, humanity, everything, as long as shareholders get a lot of money.
The copyright lobby, on the other hand, has been doing this shit since forever, I doubt things can get much worse on their side
Wow, after all those years, poop knife is still a thing, huh?

You just don’t want to look at it and if someone snacks it in your face you’ll just say it’s propaganda.
China awesome! Chinese government NEVER does anything bad or evil, they would never!
There is no convincing you as you’re either a really sad troll or a China paid shill, or just a severely naive little boy who really never learned to look beyond your own nose

1·8 months agoThe plaintiff’s lawyers who sued Meta are calling this a “landmark” victory — the tech company contends that the jury got it all wrong.
Seriously, what is it with these lawyers that come out of a court case they just lost because they client is a guilty sack of shit, and then they go "but the judge and jury and evidence have it all wrong, we are innocent because my client says so!
Go fuck an umbrella you sell out
User privacy is important to Meta
You can’t be serious with this, right? At eyou seriously with a straight face claiming that Meta, of all companies, is fighting the good fight for user privacy and isn’t trying to squeeze more money out of every piece of data they can get their hands on?
Fucking liars

242·8 months agoCan we PLEASE make ffmpeg use GPL for everything?
Actually, can we do that for just all open source software. I’m getting kinda tired of large multinationals using open source for free to make billions over billions and then give back a dollar or so for each of those…
Maybe there are exceptions here and there but most companies give back shit

6·8 months agoAgain?
You just gotta love how Microsoft keeps promising that THIS TIME they weally weally will do security, pinky promise!
Just like this did about a year or so ago where they promised the US Senate that they wouldn’t again purposefully leave security bugs open as fixing it would cost money and cause negative press, better just hide it and whoopsie poopsie, the US government got hacked by China now because of that bug? Owwie bowwie, we so sowwie…

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Child labour with 10 years of experience, 'AI-native' accepting 250k lines of Cursor code
16·8 months ago250K lines of code in a month means about 10k lines per day.
For an 8 hour work day (since they donchild labour, it might as well be 16, but let’s keep it simple) that is about 1000 lines of code per hour, so about 20 lines of code per minute. Give or take
Unless you trust the output of AI implicitly without checking anything, ever, there is no way on this earth this can be done by a single person.
Then, an actual senior developer would be required to evaluate each method he wrote, but I’m sure this 10 year old child with zero experience will suffice
So basically, this guy just uses a child to tell chatgpt similar to vomit out text that likely may not even compile, let alone do what it needs to do correctly, with the right security protocols, all with the underlying infrastructure.
All of this is bullshit and that CEO should be arrested for child labor

1294·8 months agoStop using the Internet. Seriously.
I already only used open source products for decades now, and the Internet is just a network, you can use different networks, different protocols if you want, even embedded on current Internet protocols, or maybe use even something that completely sidesteps the Internet
Either way, the Internet has mostly been a failure

Microsoft ALWAYS has been miserably incompetent in IT.
This is nothing new. All Microsoft products always have sucked balls in comparison with other products and those few that at the surface level looked reasonably nice (say, windows 95) still sucked baaaadly when anyone bothered to look any deeper
The only reason why Microsoft got so big is due to great marketing and a lot lot loooooot of lies and sabotaging of competition
Fuck. Everything. About. Microsoft.
