unicornBro@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•I'm very bad at convincing people to care about their privacy1·2 months agoYeah the washing machine app is for the public laundromat. I tried it on GrapheneOS with everything enabled but it was lacking something that is only on stock Google Android. I haven’t tried it on a MicroG phone yet.

It was so bizarre. I thought it was some AI generated ad. This was like 3 years ago though and I didn’t have Facebook anymore.
I started out with Linux Mint which I had trouble with when I kept getting notified that I had unnecessary files in my Boot folder. I deleted the wrong files and broke my first installation. Tried ZorinOS and loved it. I decided to try Ubuntu to see what all the hype was about and didn’t like how much Snaps were pushed on me. Went back to ZorinOS and I like everything as is out of the box. I don’t care much for the Windows App Support. VirtualBox is a life saver.

I use it for everyday things like schoolwork and gmail and it works great so far. I still have Librewolf on the side but it seems like it’s for more privacy and that you’re not supposed to change it too much for example adding more extensions or it defeats the purpose of it.
unicornBro@sh.itjust.worksOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Is it safe to upgrade to paid version of a distro if I'm dual booting?251·3 months agoI’m using ZorinOS and I really like how simple it is and I want to support the project. If I upgrade to the Pro version then I get more desktop themes/options.
But I understand what you mean. I could just install for example Debian with KDE desktop and have more customizing options for free.
Okay thanks. I’m thinking of sticking with deb packages also at the moment because a lot of apps on the flathub website say “Unverified”
