There’s also the west coast. The damming of the Columbia, while a natural disaster, made the region viable for manufacture and ship building. In some ways it lead to the possibility for the tech industry as well for better or worse.
Yeah that’s fair. But the works and practice in mobilizing the workforce in the new deal played a big part in the US having industrial capability prior to WWII. Not mentioning other logistics, the power grid improvement alone may have made the difference in the war effort even being possible for the US. After the war private industry continued to benefit from cheap energy coming from those same projects. Hell if there’s a miuntain range in your state you’re almost certainly getting some of your power from a hydro plant made in the 30’s.
And nothing to do with those pesky socialist reforms of the new deal. No this social reforms ruined everything! Must kill for equity!
Statement unclear whether increased conservatism is the natural result of property/capital or if property/capital are merely requisite.
You’re right. Maybe we shouldn’t have a state people suffer and die under.
Makes sense, didn’t mean to yuck your yum. Just seemed like your reasons were surmountable with cheaper alternatives and an additional system seemed to me like a large cost. But you want the console, and it seems a solution that better fits your wants/needs.
Please, i don’t want to be self aware of my accent in my first language.
Also the two pronunciations of “the” noted above are different mouth shapes. “Uh” un butt versus “ee” in jeep.
You can use a controller on PC and also connect to this display with the same responsiveness and colors. I always thought consoles were for the exclusive games and to play with friends, not performance or graphics.
Let’s start with infrastructure.
Buses/metro/any public transit, barriered or not, sparsely or rarely exist. Even painted bike paths/walking paths, these usually exist ONLY in dense or older urban areas. You have either 1-1.5m wide sidewalk elevated 10cm or nothing separating you on foot from car traffic.
So that 250m is often on the shoulder of car lanes.
Now let’s talk property liability. You are responsible for injuries others sustain while on your property unless you have clearly posted signage expressing they were not allowed on your property. Even then and at best you’ll have to disrupt 6mo of your life tied up in courts+fees. (No right to roam. You do get the “perk” of open manhunting season on trespassers)
So that shortcut through the neighborhood where your neighbor laid out gravel because they care about community? Nope, that’s cyclone fence or cinder block wall. That alley between flats? Gated off.
It’s not even scale that’s the problem. You ALWAYS have to go around the ENTIRE block. A 250m Crow flight can easily be and most often is 1+km by foot, and only ever with a curb as your protection from traffic. You can’t safely get to geographically nearby places without putting yourself in mortal danger.
Also note European road design limits traffic in residential areas where the US grid system means every road is a main road and wide enough to promote excessive speeding.

It’s not even opt-in wtf Gavin…
I think that’s grammatically true but i tend to think of it more in terms of colloquialisms or slang. I imagine intransitive use of the verb developed out of convenience for lack of a lazy alternative. “I can’t prepare food” would either suggest you require assistance to eat, you can’t legally work at a restaurant, or your aristocratic status is beyond that of a mere peasant who has seen a kitchen before.
They stopped caring about money in legislation when they realized they don’t need to hide their grifts anymore. As long as they keep believing the library is for WASPs we’ll be fine.
That’s weird. I read comments in political posts because the straining from the rage really seems to help when i don’t have an urge at all.
I ain’t zooming in for obv Rick Asstley.
I mean that’s true of the english term as well. But if someone says they can’t cook i default to thinking they order out every meal or use a microwave fot cup of ramen. Making sandwiches, salads, and other cold foods is still a skill but there’s no word such as cold-cutlerist and i refuse andwich artist.
Lol of course not! Just joking about what others see my work as.
“CAD” which is also not a job.
mechanical engineers: Record scratch
This isn’t about changing the Iranian government or taking nukes away. Neither will happen even in full out war. Just going to be a lot of suffering and dead people. Many if which couldn’t care less about state affairs. When USA inevitably gets sucked into boots on the ground we’ll have another generation of youth either dead or returning with broken bodies achieving yet another Pyrrhic victory for the US. Yet another generations Vietnam.
