Whatever you do, do not look into the eyes of the pizza delivery person that lives in our serverroom, do not accept their goods. Its a trap.

I think its just a metal bar and wider then the tablet.
I especially like how the tablet is just main menu and cannot be placed horizontally.
Same here, i still have a backlog of music in my genre i have yet to fully explore, but i also do go back to old favourites for that nostalgia hit.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux has over 6% of the desktop market? Yes, you read that right - here's how
5·10 months agoIn the original it also supposedly amounts to more grain then there is in the kingdom.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux has over 6% of the desktop market? Yes, you read that right - here's how
31·10 months agoA king once summoned a wise man who had done him a great service and said, “Name your reward.” The wise man replied, “Your Majesty, I ask for a simple thing. Give me one percent Linux desktop market share for the first square of the chessboard, two percent for the second square, four percent for the third square, and so on, doubling the amount for each of the 64 squares.” The king, thinking this was a modest request, said, “Surely you jest! Such a small reward for such a great service? Ask for gold, land, or jewels instead.” But the wise man insisted, and the king agreed. The king ordered his treasurer to calculate the total. Starting with 1% for the first square, 2% for the second, 4% for the third, 8% for the fourth… by the time they reached the tenth square, they needed 512% of the desktop market. The treasurer, pale with realization, informed the king that by the 64th square, they would need more market share than could possibly exist in the entire universe of computing devices. The king then understood that what seemed like a humble request was actually impossible to fulfill, and he gained a new respect for the power of exponential growth.
Wait till you guys hear of Christmas cards.
Jokes beside i know a few stores with a terminal to print pictures on photo paper cheaply.
Almost no one does film (outside professional/ artists) and i doubt develop many people know how to manually develop their own anymore, even during the golden days of film my dad just brought them to the store who developed the film professionally for you. Thats one store still exists.
I remember being given a camera on summer camp. It had 20 pictures i could take and it cost just as much for a failed or good picture.
I know that camera very well i high poly 3d modelled it as part a midterm project and its by far my most favourite thing i ever modelled.
I am not sure if i still have an easily accessible pic of it though since i long deleted my fb.
Definitely a vibe.

Linux@lemmy.ml•systemd has been a complete, utter, unmitigated success
46·10 months agoUnrelated but how do people feel about the ai images when used for something like this.
The font is very telling for being DallE

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Cloudflare offers to make AI pay to crawl websites
11·10 months agoBased on the headline this is not about blocking ai scrappers but by making them pay to do it.
Based on the discussion below which moved that goalpost the most likely answer is by making it cheaper to scrape “legally” then it costs to mimic millions of individual residential browsers with human users.
I don’t know how many aces cloudflare has up its sleep to detect secret ai but they definitely have the tools to make it pretty costly and difficult. There is also a broadband impact difference between a few capitalist megapigs scrapping secretly versus loads of global basement dwellers and smaller companies scrapping worry free.
You would not believe the cosmic timing of how i find myself while reading this.
Id definitly label it sensory unpleasant but i would argue it cannot be compared.
The experience of both is one all humans will experience many times starting from childhood. Its a bad thing but its one you know, The experience is predictable and often the same as other times.
The experience of food is much more diverse and thus unpredictable. We all have experienced eating a “trusted” dish made somewhere else to find ourselves betrayed by “different brand”, “extra ingredient” or “chopped in unusual sizes”
Hyperbole aside (autistic adults may learn to get used to some of those suprises or mask their way trough), the exact sensory experiences are unique to each individual and many autistic people will chase certain stimulation as well as avoid it.
Some i know are:
Walking barefoot, Roller coasters, Storm chasing, And for me, somewhat ironically, some forms of fine dining.
The one friend may be autistic and suffer food related overstimulation. This plate feels very no stress safe.
This is not a joke, its a lesser known but very common thing among us.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Alright fine I admit it, I want to learn Linux
28·11 months agoIf your library is on other platform like gog, epic, amazon or off platform .exe you can use heroic launcher and for most stuff it works just as well.
For some games there is a little more learning curve because you have to translate custom steam configurations found on protondb to do the same thing in heroic but overall you actually have way more control then steam.
The only reason “id think twice” is if you play lots of games with anticheat which does not work on every distro (like arch btw).
Did you pay for copilot yourself or did your job provide you with a license?
The enterprise tier of copilot is supposed to have access to such data, though it can be managed trough internal policies.
Ask it to summarize your latests emails In outlook/teams messages. If it has access to those (and this is intended) then its near certainty also setup to know who is who in the organization.
Allegedly, the data is “safe” because enterprises is supposedly not harvested and used for training… which makes me conclude non enterprise use absolutely is.
Allegedly because thats what Microsoft claims and on paper it looks legal. But these tech companies never seem to actually follow the law to such a degree that any claims that unmistakably seem to fit within the legal framework automatically are sus to me.

The actual Nvidia driver settings window or all the gamer crap build on top of it that demands you make an account?
Don’t get me wrong, this law is awful but also just deinstall that piece of bloat, good old Nvidia control panel is all you need and works entirely offline without account or did something chance since i left windows?
