    Eh joke but who ever thought a monocle was a good idea? “Oh I want to see properly, but only out of the one eye”

      Many peoples vision is different in each eye. In fact, i think it’s abnormal to have the same prescription in both eyes.

        Yeah mine is that way but they both need to be corrected, I would assume that’s the overwhelming majority of cases. Maybe I’m wrong. Or maybe I’m part of the Luxotica cartel trying to convince everyone to buy a needless lens

          I don’t know how common it is but i have absolutely heard of people only having one eye corrected and the other lens of the glasses being “normal” for lack of a better word.

          My prescription is the same for both eyes, fortunately enough

      Some people, myself included, have a bad eye. My left eye is crap due to poor development and improper management by my parents. I was supposed to wear a patch over the good eye (right) ALL the time. That way my left eye would’ve strengthened and possibly improve it’s function. So, a monocle may have also been used for some eye vision problems.
