The US and Russia became de facto enemies AFTER WWII. That was the Cold War which led to the Cuba missile crisis. The US was consumed with the anti-Soviet Red Scare propaganda in the 1950s, primarily after finding out in WWII that Russia was a formidable foe who was winning the science and technological races. And they had nukes.
I have never said the US was fighting Communism in WWII. The CIA spook squad didnt even exist then to invent the scare.
