I am using GrapheneOS and the mail app does not support notifications.

Tested, in Vanadium, i received no prompt to grant access for notifications and did not receive one with a test email.

Can I enable notifications with the PWA?

    Notifications currently use Google services. It’s on the list to change. No idea when it’ll come.

      The problem of not using Google notifications is that Proton would need to be running in the background all the time.

        That is not a problem, it’s what signal does and possibly tutanota, although the latter does not appear on the active apps section, yet i receive notifications.
