The problem with a single laser is, that, in order to achieve bigger working widths, it would have to be able to rotate very accurately, very fast and not shoot your crops at the same time. Especially the latter makes it impossible to use a single one.

You also dont have to “burn” the weeds. It is enough to destroy certain cells to stop them from growing.

The problem is not that you need to run a single laser, but multiple lasers in order to have some form of usable working width. Then you also need to power the cooling and the computer for the plant detection. If you build some form of small scale robot it should work with solar, but any machine that is designed to get the job done relatively quick probably won’t work.

The Problem is, that these machines are hella expensive. I heard about costs of about 1.00.000€ + support. The one that I saw also has a newer version, that is probably even more expensive. Additionally you can not even closely match the efficency of herbicides, since equipment designed to apply herbicides has a working range of up to 40m and you can drive with much higher speeds.

So even tho laser looks like a promising solution they are not even anywhere close to being able to replace pesticides. There are other options for mechanically reducing weeds that may not match the efficiency, but are economically far more viable.

Die hatten Merz an den Eiern und die haben es nicht hin bekommen eine Reform der Schuldenbremse durchzuboxen. Auch wenn der aktuelle Kompromiss per SE nicht so mega schlecht ist bin ich doch massivst enttäuscht. Die hätten fordern können was die wollen und Merz wäre gesprungen (der hatte Schuss, dass der eventuell im neuen BT mit den Linken reden muss) und haben ihr eigentlich angestrebtes Ziel verfehlt.

Die Probleme die zum Aufstieg der AfD führen sind nichts was die SPD und auch die Grünen nicht so wirklich beheben wollen. Faschismus ist Kapitalismus in der Kriese. Stagnierende Reallöhne, ungleiche Verteilung von Kapital und Ressourcen, Explosion der Lebenshaltungskosten und gleichzeitig fährt die Arbeit jedes Quartal Rekordgewinne ein ohne dass das Personal davon irgendwas hat führt dazu, dass die Leute sich gegen die Wenden die Ihnen angeblich alles Wegnehmen (namentlich die Bürgegeldbeziehenden bzw geflüchtete). Gleichzeitig steigt mit dem Verfall der Infrastruktur aufgrund des Sparplans von der CDU auch die Möglichkeit Infrastrukturellen Populismus zu betreiben (danke an meine Soziologiedozentin für diesen Wunderbaren Begriff).

SPD und Grüne wollen zwar Schulden aufnehmen um den Investitionsstau abzubauen, aber keine der beiden Parteien WL die bestehenden Besitzverhältnisse angreifen. Sie wollen minimale Reformative Verbesserungen. Diese sind zwar, vom Grundsatz her, zu begrüßen, aber reichen nicht aus um das Kernproblem zu beheben. Stattdessen steht man lieber am Spielfeldrand, schreit “Wir sind mehr” erzählt dem Wähler, dass er nicht die AfD wählen soll, nur um dann nichts durchzubringen was dafür sorgt, dass die Leute keine AfD wählen. Zudem legitimieren beide Parteien durch die Übernahme von Programmatik der AfD (Stichwort Migration) diese.

Selbst wenn die SPD und Grüne ihre minimalen Reformationen durchgebracht hätten und Düse was bringen würden (rein hypothetisch gesehen) ist das nichts, was in einem Jahr einen solch großen wie von dir prognostizierten Effekt gezeigt hätte.

Die können mal meine Eier lecken, aber mehr dann doch nicht (aber bitte nicht von Trump oder Musk, diese Wiederlinge lasse ich da nicht dran).

Mildly related. In Germany (and I assume in other countries too, but I can’t confirm) depending on why your doctor freed you from work you are actually allowed to do such stuff. As example if you get called sick from the doctor for depression you are allowed to go clubbing, make a trip to the beach etc. This is because under German law you are only forbidden to do stuff that is not beneficial for your recovery, so doing stuff that makes you happy is absolutely allowed. I would suggest to not tell this your employer, because that can lead to a lot of unnecessary discussions, but you are allowed to do this.
