Except the stated point was “there needs to be more ‘conservative voices’, so we will allow corporations to buy all the airwaves they can stand.” As they did so they kicked off non-fascist shows or moved them to dead time slots. The reason that Air America doesnt exist is because they were blocked from broadcast access.

I get that most of you are all under 30 and have no idea what the world was like before TikTok but there was a time that rednecks in pickup trucks in rural areas were NOT being told by their radio no stop that Big City Liberals were coming to kill Jesus, eat their babies, destroy America, burn the Constitution, and enslave all white people on black-owned FEMA farms.
It took PASSING A LAW to get that ability.
Fairness Doctrine ended in 1985 under Reagan, a decade prior to Clinton.

Which has nothing to do with the Telecommunications act and everything to do with how radio stations are handled when they go bankrupt.
It has everything to do with the TCA. Air America was a SYNDICATED SHOW.
